The historic reclamation work begun in the sixteenth century has transformed the Val di Chiana into an important agricultural center; still today the local economy is strongly rooted in its land where you ride on the roads of cheese and fruit, oil, wine and Chianina steak. Between Arezzo and Chiusi there are many possibilities to get in touch with the heart of a land to be lived, in the name of history and art along the historic waterway, letting yourself be tempted by the excellence of a territory that, beyond the labels, smells of authenticity.
The cycle-pedestrian path of the Canale Maestro della Chiana that connects Arezzo with Chiusi is a path of about 62 km equipped and protected for those traveling slowly, by bike or on foot. The ancient road used for the maintenance of the canal and the locks is in fact a natural path without gradients and particularly suitable for a family sport tourism.
